This week I’m at TEDWomen in Washington DC with my camera to document a conference dedicated to exploring the question: How are women and girls reshaping the future?
Gender is playing an increasing role in the discussions I’ve been having with people at conferences the last few years. Part of that is that there’s a growing awareness of the gender-based challenges that exist in the circles I wander in. Part of it is that—in large part because of my role as an observer—I’ve seen some pretty major examples of the divides. Part is that I’ve got lots of friends and family that are raising young women. There are many I’d like to write about sometime, in whatever free time I can probably never find. In any case, it’s going to be interesting to see what TED’s take is on this subject.
It’ll be a bit quiet around here till after TEDWomen is done. After that, I’ll be back to writing and linking. In particular, I’ve got some things coming up that about launching the new Luma website and the new Loop.
