For an upcoming post about some of my history, i needed to find a new link to one of my old conference papers for the Second International WWW Conference Chicago 1994, as the NCSA archives have gone.
My poster presentation and paper “WAIS through the Web – Discovering Environmental Information” showed how we used Wide Area Information Servers (WAIS) and textual metadata records to build a distributed directory and gateway from the early WWW.
For the missing links to past WWW conferences, it is very appropriate to use the
Wayback Machine (Internet Archive). It was founded by Brewster Kahle who was the co-founder of WAIS.
