While it does take effort, growing our own wheatgrass at home and freshly juicing is very beneficial.

Growing it indoors is best, which keeps the vermin away and avoids the outdoor weather.
We have three small trays in rotation, and a jar of occasionally soaked seeds sprouting for the next batch. After about three days the next batch is ready for planting.
We use a layer of paper then compost in the tray. Spread the layer of sprouted wheat over. Needs a little water sprayed occasionally in the beginning.
Not all grain is suitable. We buy a stock of organic sproating grain.
We use a manual cold-press juicer attached to the bench. Stainless steel, easy to wash.
