Ed Fisher: It seems the certificate that Microsoft uses to secure access to your buddy list was updated with a new wildcard certificate
Instructions adapted for Ubuntu/Firefox:
- Visit https://omega.contacts.msn.com/, and see
Directory Listing Denied. - Click on
msn.comin the navigation bar => More Information => View Certificate => Details => Export. - Name the file
omega.contacts.msn.com. Note what folder the file will be placed in. Click save. - Move the file produced to to
.purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers/
You don’t even need to restart pidgin.
